You are cordially invited to a Faculty Concert at the Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts:
A musical highlight in the Department of Design
Moderated by the Dean, Prof. Prof. h.c. Dirk Gebhardt
On Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at 6 p.m., three musical professors from the FH Dortmund invite you to a lecturer concert in the auditorium of the Design Department at Max-Ophüls-Platz 2. Let yourself be inspired by the musical diversity and creative talent of the academic teachers from the Design Department!
Autotext is a prog-folk band that is not confused with the invisibility and abundance of the 1920s. Word and sound are their language, and a bunch of instruments are their toys. Prof. Martin Middelhauve (object and interior design, scenography) is one of the songwriters and unabashedly plays the violin, mandolin, and mandola.
Prof. Jörg U. Lensing (sound design) presents compositions that combine theater and dance, inviting the audience to an inspiring musical experience.
Prof. Oliver Langbein (scenography) will bring electronic sounds and video projections of his current project, "OSA—Orchestra for Sustainable Atmosphere," to the stage. His first release from 1987, Tribantura—Lack of Sense, an industrial classic, will also be played.
Further notable highlights of the evening:
- A dance performance: Three contemporary duets from the choreography "West-Land-Tänze" by Jacqueline Fischer, performed by the dancers Lara Pilloni and Julia Monschau from the Düsseldorf THEATER DER KLÄNGE.
- BalFolk dance session: a proprioceptive finale, where you can shake a leg to the music of Prof. Lensing (electronics), Christiane Meis (accordion), and Jens Barabasch (flute).
- Oliver Langbein will present video projections with loops from the current Venice Biennale, accompanied by live mashup improvisations, especially for this evening. These projections are being created during the faculty's excursion to Venice.
This faculty concert, part of our dESIGN12+ lecture series, is a unique opportunity to see our teachers' artistic sides up close.
We look forward to an unforgettable evening entire of music and dance – join us!
