We are all part of a third revolution in film and television that will change how we perceive ourselves and the world. 
Streaming services like Netflix offer their productions in over 190 countries. Worldwide, the California-based company has more than 210 million subscribers. For online video stores, like Disney+, Apple and Amazon the market is a global one, and so the films and series are designed to be understood and appreciated all over the world. 
The focus of the providers is not on the single piece, but on the series. Binge-watching has become a popular sport. What consequence does this have for the makers and the audience?

Oliver Schütte will explain what lies ahead. The lecture will illuminate the consequences of the new development and critically question whether we are ready for the new experiences. For we are about to cross a dangerous boundary: The providers know when, where and what we watch. They know very precisely what interests us, when we have switched off or which moments we watch again and again. In this way, products will be planned and tailored with pinpoint accuracy. It will even be possible to deliver each viewer their own movie. Those who love happy endings will get one. Those who like sad endings will see a different one. 

Speaker:
Oliver Schütte works as a specialist in storytelling and is active as a publicist, lecturer at international film schools (Germany, Switzerland and USA), script consultant and as a producer. He is a founding member of the German Film Academy. He lives regularly since more than fifteen years in San Francisco in addition to Berlin.
He is also the author of "The Art of Screenplay Reading" (4th edition) and „Schau mir in die Augen, Kleines“ (4th edition).
